Join Year 12

On Monday 6th March, a Year 12 Geography group went to Ainsdale Sand Dunes on the Sefton coast, to study the sand dune ecosystem. The sand dunes are part of a National Nature Reserve. All students worked brilliantly in small groups to systematically measure slope features, pH, and climate and plant data. The sun was shining, and after a brief talk from the Senior Warden, we trekked to the beach. From there we began sampling along the transect inland. We spotted caterpillars, frogs and a variety of plants and bird species. Mr Taggart was on hand to help identify the different plant species. All students played their part in collecting vital data for the fieldwork investigation, and have now started the presentation and analysis of the results. Well done Year 12!
